After review, the Supreme People's Court affirmed that on August 27, 1996, the defendant, Wang Zhengjun, the third son of Wang Zixin, a neighbour of Zhang Deduction's family, died of injury to Zhang Deduction's mother in a neighbourhood dispute. Before the execution of the death penalty, the Hanzhong Intermediate People's Court arranged Zhang Jiankou to meet with his close relatives according to law.
